10 Grosvenor Street is an office building in Mayfair, London. Developed in a joint venture between Hammerson and Grosvenor, this six-storey 60,000 sq ft prime office building was completed in December 2003. It houses Hammerson’s headquarters with Associated British Foods occupying the top two floors of the building and hedge fund manager LDFM, the third floor. The scheme includes 570m2 of retail space on the ground floor. This project involved providing additional lighting to the reception area, the atrium, waiting area and elevator entrance spaces.
Our brief was to supply linear lighting to the perimeter edges of the atrium to improve the overall light levels. This was challenging from the point of view that the luminaire needed to be mounted to the sides of the atrium. We undertook an initial site visit and then returned to accurately measure out and sketch out the space so we could proceed to the manufacture stage.
Within the wall-mounted M-Line we included eBlue Casambi modules which are controlled via an APP a wireless wall switch located at the reception desk to enable dimming and scene setting. To improve light levels within the waiting area we provided a high output LED tape to replace the existing product used inside the troughs. The lift corridor was extremely dark, so we supplied an aluminium channel with a high-power LED tape installed to provide a wash of lighting onto the dark paneling and lift doors, again this was controlled via the eBlue system to allow dimming and scene setting.
